Franklin D. Wolffe
Attorney
Franklin Wolffe has over 50 years of practical experience in intellectual property law with special expertise in dealing with unique procedural questions within the area of patent procurement including petitions, revivals, security and related matters. His practice includes all areas of chemistry and mechanical technologies with particular emphasis in electronic assembly and robotics, including patent application drafting and prosecution, licensing and litigation. He has served as a Special Master for settlement and as an Expert Witness in the United States District Court. Additionally, trademarks and copyrights round out his practice experience.

He earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1954 and a J.D. from the George Washington University in 1959 (Law Review) and is a former Patent Examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

His professional memberships include the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, the Virginia State Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He is past Chairman of the Intellectual Property Section of the Virginia State Bar. He was Chairman of the Unauthorized Practice Committee of the AIPLA.

He is a member to the bars of the District of Columbia and Virginia and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. District Court and Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
