Banner & Witcoff, Ltd. announces A Celebration of Creativity prompted by the grant of the 400,000th U.S. design patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to Tinker L. Hatfield and Mark J. Smith of Nike, Inc. This was recognized in a series of events on Tuesday, October 27, 1998.

Highlights:

9:30 am
The patent is presented to the designers at the National Press Club.

3:30 pm
The prototype design is presented by Nike to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Museum.

4 - 6 pm
Banner & Witcoff, Ltd. will host a reception for the industrial design community to celebrate this milestone of creativity at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Crystal City.
