Mr. Wilson’s visionary leadership has led to extraordinary growth in the CDC’s programming, transforming the lives of hundreds of Chicago Public School students.
The Chicago Debate Commission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and facilitating competitive academic debate for students in Chicago. Since 1997, the CDC has operated the Chicago Debate League in partnership with Chicago Public Schools.
The CDC’s programs provide 1500 Chicago students – mostly low-income minorities – with powerful academic and life skills that lead them to increase their grades and test scores, graduate from high school, attend college and create life success. The breadth of their reach in Chicago, the depth of educational learning, and the immense amount of time debaters spend on academic skill enhancement make the CDC’s programs uniquely important to Chicago students.
