Billing Coordinator – Washington D.C.

Banner & Witcoff’s Washington office is seeking a full-time Billing Coordinator. The Billing Coordinator supports a fast paced accounting department, handling month end deadlines and performing specific billing duties.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides client billing support to attorneys by preparing accurate and timely bills, including Electronic billing and supporting Excel documents
  • Reviews information for client matters with attorneys
  • Monitors billing system to confirm status of billing matters

Skills and Educational Requirements:

High school diploma, Basic Knowledge of Accounting Principles, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Windows 2000. Experience with CMS Accounting Software, Bachelor’s degree as well as 2 + years of general work experience is preferred.

Support Secretary - Washington, DC

Banner & Witcoff's Washington office is seeking a full-time Support Secretary. Support secretary will provide secretarial support to the legal and administrative staff when the regularly assigned secretary is absent or the secretary is in need of overflow assistance. Support secretary will also provide reception relief, as well as assist with firm wide conflict checks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting legal staff with documents for filing in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Preparing new files and requesting new client matters, as needed. Assisting with and/or composing reporting correspondence, answering the phone, filing PTO and other correspondence in the respective files. Assisting other firm departments, as needed with secretarial help
  • Assisting attorneys/law clerks/technical assistants, as assigned, when regularly assigned secretary is out. Performs all duties of regularly assigned secretary in their absence
  • Assisting as back-up receptionist

Prior Secretarial experience required.

Patent Prosecution Secretary - Chicago, IL

Banner & Witcoff's Chicago office is seeking a full-time Patent Prosecution Secretary. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of patent prosecution experience, have strong organizational skills and be a team player. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare application papers and letters to client at the direction of attorney(s)
  • Maintain application and attorney correspondence files
  • Maintain personal docket
  • Review and satisfy daily docket and stat bar items
  • Open new files, request conflict checks
  • Complete all papers for filings
  • Communicate docketable dates to the docketing department
  • Enter attorney time
